Paris Charles de Gaulle affected by Charlie Hebdo manhunt

Update 10.02am: Latests reports say runways at Charles de Gaulle airport are now all open, but that flight patterns have been adapted due to the hostage incident involving helicopters close by.

Paris Charles de Gaulle airport has been partially closed due to the manhunt for terrorists involved in the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris.

Two of the four runways at the airport are reported to have been shut and flights are being diverted.


The move comes as police converge at the scene of a hostage taking around five miles from the airport at an industrial zone in Dammartin-en-Goele.

Latest reports suggest the suspects have taken one hostage inside a building and shots have been fired.

In fast-moving developments, a police helicopter is circling the site off the N2 motorway.
