Star Alliance costs IT move

STAR Alliance carriers have set a $100m budget to ensure information technology systems are compatible.

The money will be spread over a five-year programme and be used on check-in, reservation and customer service systems.

A spokeswoman with Star Alliance founder Lufthansa said the aim was to streamline and harmonise operations among the global partnership.

Star Alliance is also working on schedule co-operation, codesharing and joint airport services.
