Ryanair carryings up 29% in February

Ryanair carryings soared by 29% to 5.8 million passengers in February over the same month last year as it reaped the benefits of new customer service initiatives.

The low-cost carrier’s rolling annual traffic to February grew 9% to 89.1 million. Last month’s load factor was up by 11 percentage points to 89%.

Chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs, who unveiled the latest stage of the carrier’s ‘always getting better’ customer service improvements initiative yesterday, said the airline achieved better than expected load factors on an expanded winter schedule.

“With our new routes, increased frequencies and Business Plus service, Ryanair continues to deliver so much more than just the lowest fares in every market we operate in,” he said.

“Customers can look forward to further service enhancements throughout 2015, as we roll out the second year of our always getting better programme, which includes a new website and app, new cabin interiors, new crew uniforms and inflight menus, reduced airport fees, and great new digital features such as ‘hold the fare’, destination content and fare comparison services.”
