Safafi operators in South Africa are facing a challenge from Uber as it expands its travel options into the sector.
The ride-hailing app is starting day trips from Cape Town during the country’s high season.
Uber Safari branded vehicles are taking to the streets to run trips to the Aquila Private Game Reserve.
Users will be offered breakfast, lunch and a nearly three hour game drive to see South Africa’s big five animals.
Uber Safari will become available on the app from tomorrow (Wednesday) for travel on Fridays and Saturdays until February 1 with a flat fee of $200, accommodating up to four passengers.
It is the latest experience to be added to Uber’s ‘Go Anywhere’ series of travel offerings.
