Ryanair March carryings up 28%

Ryanair saw passenger carryings in March grow by 28% to 6.67 million helped by improved customer service initiatives.


The Irish budget airline giant saw its load factor rise by ten percentage points to 90% year-on-year.


Annual carryings were up by 11.5% to 90.5 million in the year to March.


Chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said lower fares, a stronger forward booking strategy and the continuing success of its ‘Always Getting Better’ customer programme had contributed to the monthly increase.


The service improvements to delivered “better than expected” load factors on a significantly expanded winter schedule.


“With our new routes, increased frequencies and Business Plus service, customers can now look  forward to further service enhancements, as we roll out the second year of our Always Getting Better programme in 2015,  which includes a new website and app, new cabin interiors, new crew uniforms and in-flight menus,  reduced airport fees, and great new digital features such as ‘hold the fare’, destination content and fare  comparison services,” he said.
