Crystal Ski Holidays has reported its shorter-duration packages are attracting new customers as well as those looking to book several trips this winter.
The Tui-owned ski operator is offering the option to book a three, four, five or six-day trip, which means customers can travel to the slopes mid-week or take a long weekend break, with flights, transfers and accommodation included.
The shorter-duration breaks, which have been on sale since July and slowly rolled out across destinations, are said to be performing well and attracting interest from new customers.
This new programme also appeals to seasoned skiers who may prefer to book multiple winter trips throughout the season, as well as offering options to new or returning skiers who may not want to commit to a seven or 14-night holiday.
The programme covers resorts in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Norway and Switzerland, across a range of accommodation, including half-board hotels and self-catering options.
The operator reported it has seen “a great start” to the season, with December currently the most popular month, with bookings more than 10% up year-on-year, particularly around the new year period.
Families account for 20% of all bookings but Crystal has also seen a rise in younger customers this winter.
Moreover, solo traveller bookings have risen by 15% compared to last year, with 35% of this category choosing to book Austria.
Across all bookings, France remains the favourite and is particularly in demand by families (30%) and younger groups (36%).
The expansion of Tui Airways flights has seen Norway bookings rise by 140% compared to last year.
Chris Logan, managing director at Crystal Ski Holidays, said: “We are thrilled to see so many new and returning customers booking with Crystal this winter.
“Cultivating the next generation of skiers is important to us. Not only does this reflect a growing interest in ski holidays among younger skiers, but it also helps grow the overall market and ensure longevity for the industry’s future.”
