Funway forecasts boom in family business to Florida

US specialist Funway Holidays is predicting a boom in business to Florida next year as new attractions tempt families back to the destination.

Managing director Stephen Hughes, launching the operator’s preview Any Way You Like brochure, said many people will also celebrate the millennium with a visit to Florida.

“This year we are seeing strong growth to Orlando on the back of increased non-stop scheduled capacity to the three major Florida gateways,” he said. “We are anticipating similar demand in 2000 because of Disneyland’s ever increasing theme parks and because many families will be making a trip for the millennium.”

Prices lead in at £429 for one week at the Econolodge Maingate Hawaiian including flights, shuttle to Walt Disney World and seven-nights’ car hire.

Meanwhile, Bromley-based Funway has added San Francisco to its city breaks programme, joining New York, Las Vegas, Boston, Washington, New Orleans and Miami South Beach.

Free nights are available at selected hotels while city maps and guides, tips on nightspots, dining venues and discount booklets are on offer. Hughes said families and couples are being targeted.
