Intrepid Travel UK bookings rise 30% with annual cyber sale

Intrepid Travel has claimed record global sales in November due to its annual cyber sale.

Global revenue increased by 39%, with the UK market showing a 30% rise compared to 2023 – the operator’s strongest November on record.

The top-selling destinations from the UK were Morocco, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka and Peru.

Destinations with strong year-on-year growth for the UK market included Australia (88%) and Malaysia (62%).

Demand for travel to Southeast Asia was high, with Cambodia and Thailand among the top destinations in the region.

Short-haul was also in demand with passengers to Europe up 29% year-on-year, with Iceland and Georgia topping the destination wish list.

The data showed a growing trend of travellers opting for shoulder season trips over peak periods, with April, February and March emerging as the preferred months to travel in 2025 for the UK market.

Travellers are still seeking the best value for money — Intrepid’s more budget-conscious 18-35s range came out on top again this year, while the most popular themes for bookers were walking and trekking and family adventures.

Agents continued to make high-value customer bookings during this year’s cyber sale. Premium and Comfort itineraries have been selling well through all key trade partners and this continued in the sale.

UK and Ireland director Hazel McGuire said: “These results highlight how people are continuing to value travel and meaningful experiences over material possessions, even amid cost-of-living challenges and economic uncertainty.

“It’s fantastic to see Southeast Asia, the heart of Intrepid, leading our most-booked destinations. A huge thank you to our trade partners for their incredible support in making this sale such a success.”
