Carnival to refurbish two ships in Australia

Carnival Cruise Line will update two of its ships transferring from P&O Cruises Australia.

Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter will be refurbished in a two-week wet dock and will begin sailing from under the Carnival brand from March 2025.

The ships will feature Carnival’s onboard entertainment team hosting, the Turtles Kids’ Club and other activities like Build-A-Bear workshops, the Conga for Kids line dance party and 1980s-themed Rock and Glow nights.

They will also keep a range of P&O Cruises Australia like the exclusive retreat Byron Beach Club, Edge Adventure Park, speciality restaurant Luke’s Bar & Grill, and other dining options Angelo’s and Dragon Lady.

Carnival Adventure will sail year-round from Sydney, joining sister ship Carnival Splendor.

Carnival Encounter will homeport in Brisbane all year and Carnival Luminosa will join in the summer season.

Kara Glamore, Carnival vice-president of sales and marketing, said: “This transition presents a unique opportunity to combine the best of P&O Cruises Australia and Carnival Cruise Line as the brand expands its footprint in Australia.”
