American Airlines ‘briefly’ grounds all flights in US

American Airlines “briefly” grounded all flights in the US today (December 24) but services have now resumed.

A spokesperson for American Airlines said: “A vendor technology issue briefly affected flights this morning.

“That issue has been resolved and flights have resumed.

“We sincerely apologise to our customers for the inconvenience this morning.

“It’s all hands on deck as our team is working diligently to get customers where they need to go as quickly as possible.”

The ground stop lasted approximately one hour, added the statement.

The airline said in replies to affected travellers on X that airline staff are “doing our best to get things back on track”.
