Seaside Travel has revealed plans for a 12th shop in Amble in Northumberland.
The company had already hinted at a 12th store pre-Christmas, after revealing it planned to open around three new branches this year, with a target of 20 in the next few years.
This week the agency announced the location of the new store on social media, saying: “We are beyond excited to be coming to Amble, and what a start to the year this is going to be. Keep your eyes peeled for further updates.”
The new Amble shop is likely to open soon in the centre of the village, according to the company, which is now on the lookout for five staff for the new branch. Unlike many agencies, Seaside does not require staff to have travel experience.
“The locals are already contacting us excited about us coming to the village,” said brand manager Richard Lowrey-Heywood.
The announcement comes in the same week as the agency officially opening its 11th branch, in Bishop Auckland, Durham on January 10.
The shop, a former sweet shop, was due to open pre-Christmas but was delayed due to electrical work that needed to be carried out. Staff have been working in other branches but were due to return to the new store at the end of this week.
Owner Nicola Park recently told Travel Weekly she had a target of 20 shops, but would not give a specific timescale for the expansion. Its largest store, in Guisborough, opened in August last year.
