Grecotel Hotels & Resorts is expanding its UK sales team as it looks to further grow sales through agents and operators.
The company has recruited Briony Lea Worrall as a sales executive. She joins from Fred Holidays and will be responsible for some of the country’s larger agency chains and the Midlands.
She will also support UK sales manager Liz Shaw and business development manager Yannis Ioannou, both of which joined the brand last year. The team is managed by Kostas Sinis and recruitment is currently underway for a fourth team member, to be based in the UK.
Kostas Sinis, director of sales UK and luxury, said: “Introducing a team dedicated to the UK market clearly shows our intentions to grow our share of business in the UK – which over the years has established itself as the most important market for our business. Liz and Yannis have done a great job in educating the trade on our network of incredible hotels. We’re now expanding that team further with the addition of Bryony and we’re recruiting for a fourth person to be based in the UK.
“We want to be the most accessible and memorable trade team in the UK. We pride ourselves on always being there when agents need us, for our quick response times to queries and for supporting agent events as they look to sell more holidays to Greece. The growth of our team is a reflection of the growth we’re seeing from UK agents.”
Laura Wilson, head of business development at Fred Holidays, said: “We’d like to thank Briony for all her hard work and commitment during her time at Fred Holidays, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
Grecotel is also running its “most generous” peaks incentive yet as it looks to reward agents for their support during the key booking months.
Agents who make bookings before the end of March have a chance of winning one of three prizes. The agent who books the most room nights will win four nights at a Lux Me Grecotel property with flights for two included. The runner-up will receive three bottles of Moet champagne, while the third runner-up will receive a dinner voucher for two worth £200.
Sinis said: “We like to reward our agent partners for their support and our incentive for peaks this year is generous.”
