BIG TURNOUT EXPECTED FOR MISTRAL APPEARANCE
An estimated 350 travel agents are expected to tour Festival Cruises’ new ship Mistral when it stops in Southampton on June 27. The vessel’s maiden voyage to the Greek islands departs from Genoa on July 17.
PREMIER CRUISES REVERTS TO OLD NAME
Premier Cruises’ president Bruce Nierenberg has changed the name of the company to Premier Cruise Lines, the name he used to launch the line in 1982. Under the change, Nierenberg has also restored the line’s old symbol, a red ‘P’ inside a blue circle.
SEACO SEES STRONG BUSINESS ON NEW ROUTE
Sea Containers has reported carryings of 24,500 passengers and 6,900 vehicles on its new Heysham-Belfast route from its launch date of March 31 to May 15. No ferry service had operated the route for 25 years until Sea Containers resurrected it.
STENA LINE HOLIDAYS ADDS TO AGENT OFFER
Stena Line Holidays has extended an agent offer of £8 worth of retail vouchers for each new booking made from its Holiday Ireland and Holiday Holland brochures. The offer was initially due to end on May 31, but will now run until July 31. A Stena spokeswoman said it wanted to carry on encouraging agents to make bookings with the company.
BRITTANY FERRIES TO OFFER SANTANDER BREAK
Brittany Ferries is offering a four-night break to Santander in Spain from £158 per person. The package includes a return ferry crossing departing from Plymouth, two nights’ cabin accommodation on the ferry and two nights at the five-star Hotel Real in Santander. The deal will be available from June 17 to July 14.
