Greece holidays ‘not impacted’ by bank closures, says Sunvil

Holidays to Greece are not being impacted by bank closures, according to specialist operator Sunvil.

Managing director, Chris Wright, said: “While cash controls have now been implemented, there is very little impact on travellers to Greece.

“Those with foreign bank cards are still able to withdraw cash. In fact, the restrictions on local bank accounts – a daily withdrawal limit of €50-60 – should help ensure that ATMs do not run out of cash.

“Sunvil’s advice remains the same as that of the Foreign Office – carry extra euros in cash so you are not reliant on ATM withdrawals and credit cards.

“In the event of an emergency, Sunvil can also make cash available through our local offices if necessary.”

He added: “Greece needs our custom more than ever. Go now, and enjoy the land which created the Olympic ideal, western civilisation and all that we admire about human endeavour, while also savouring sunshine, warm, sparkling seas and wonderful cuisine.”
