Air fare consolidator Greaves Travel has been taken over by business travel agency Statesman Travel Group for an undisclosed sum.
Greaves will join Statesman’s Masterfare division to expand market share on popular routes to India, Africa, south-east Asia and Australia with British Airways and other leading carriers.
Statesman Group already runs a diverse portfolio of brands from travel and event management to hotel programmes and air fare consolidation.
Joint managing director Mervyn Williamson said: “I am delighted to announce that we’ve completed the acquisition of Greaves Travel, a leading airfare consolidator in the long-haul and VFR market.
“Our airline partners are delighted with this announcement and by combining our expertise, personnel and resources, we will be able to deliver an even better product and service, significantly increasing our market presence.
“Greaves Travel will significantly boost our group spend in annual travel bookings and help us to achieve even greater savings on behalf of our clients.
“We want to attract the best people in the industry and adding the talented and experienced team from Greaves Travel as part of the acquisition is fantastic news for us.”
