Thomas Cook UK and Ireland is to move its headquarters to Lynch Wood Business Park in Peterborough from its current offices in Bretton.
The company will relocate its 1,115 employees to West Point House by April 2016 and will fully refurbish the building’s office and social areas before the move.
The operator moved to Peterborough in 1977 and has been at its current site since 1996.
Managing director, Salman Syed, said: “As one of the largest employers in the city, I’m delighted that Thomas Cook UK and Ireland will soon be moving to all-new offices in Peterborough.
“We spend many hours at work, and it is essential that we create the right culture and environment to perform to our full potential.”
The Peterborough campus remains the hub of the company’s UK business; functions based there include the UK’s corporate head office as well as the functions supporting the UK-wide network of Thomas Cook and Cooperative Travel stores and a call centre which employees around 300 people.
In addition to Peterborough, Thomas Cook also has smaller UK operational offices and contact centres in Falkirk, Egham and Altrincham, as well as an 830-strong network of stores throughout the country.
The company is reviewing its options for the current Coningsby site, which it owns.
