On The Go Tours has appointed ex-Flight Centre boss Carl Cross to the new role of managing director of global operations.
His appointment follows the departure of general manager Pru Goudie, who has left after two stints with the operator totalling 12 years.
Cross was most recently general manager of retail product, marketing and consumer experience at Flight Centre UK and has nearly 20 years’ experience in travel, starting his career as a travel advisor for STA Travel in Australia.
In his new role Cross will be responsible for sales, reservations, marketing and operations and will split his time between Australia and the UK.
Co-founder and owner, Scott Braidwood, said: “After many years with Flight Centre in Australia and the UK, Carl has a deep understanding of our business and we are all looking forward to reaching new heights under his leadership.”
Meanwhile, Goudie, a previous member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators Council, is not being replaced. Her most recent stint with the operator was for seven years.
She said she had decided it was the “right time” for a change. She is taking some time off over the summer before deciding on her next career move.
She said: “I’ve given 12 great years to OTG and now it’s time to take a break, reset my compass and look at new opportunities.”
Kate Kenward, Aito associate director, said: “Pru used to be on the Aito Council until earlier this year when work commitments meant she had to take a break. Pru has made a great contribution to Aito over the years and we wish her all the very best with her future career.”
