Travelux founder Ian Hopley dies after lengthy illness

Ian Hopley, founder of independent specialist cruise agency Travelux of Tenterden, has died after a long illness.

He was a director of the agency from 1972 until 2013 and was an active board member of the Leading Cruise Agents of the UK with his partner Rachel Vlach.

LCA members paid tribute to Hopley and said in a statement: “We remember Ian as one of travel’s true gentlemen, whose calm and thoughtful advice – and personal sincerity – could always be relied upon.

“He will be very much missed, and our thoughts are with Rachel and Ian’s family at this very sad time.”
