INTERNET and telephone information provider Scoot has launched a range of products which it says will drive more potential customers to travel agents.
Scoot Connect enables callers to the freephone service 0800 192 192 to be instantly connected to any of a list of participating travel agents. Consumers get this service for free and it liberates them from the need to make a note of a travel agent’s phone number and then dial again.
Agents who join up with the scheme pay a low start-up fee, which is as yet undisclosed, and are then charged per connected call or sales lead generated.
Scoot Net is also being targeted to agents. Subscribing agents will receive priority listing on Scoot’s Web site as well as detailed maps of how to get to them and a short messaging service allowing their numbers to be sent to consumers who have enquired about them.
Scoot UK marketing director Tom Vandendooren said: “The introduction of the Scoot Connect product will help provide a direct transaction between Scoot users and travel agents subscribing to Scoot.
“It is our aim to make regular day-to-day buying as efficient and effective as possible for the Scoot business subscribers. Scoot Connect will deliver exactly that.”
