Thomas Cook Airlines will launch a direct Manchester to Tobago route in winter 2016, flying around 20 rotations from November to March, bringing an additional 12,880 seats to the destination.
This will follow hot on the heels of the autumn 2016 opening of the Tobago Great House Resort & Spa, a 56-suite four-star property with a strong spa and wellness focus located within the 260-acre Grafton Caledonian Wildlife Sanctuary.
Facilities include pools, a waterpark with slides, a spa, fitness centre and restaurant, and there will be a free shuttle service to the resort’s beach club.
Opening in the first quarter of next year is Manta Lodge (pictured), a total transformation of an existing dive hotel in Speyside in the island’s north east, on the fringe of the Mountain Rainforest.
Now a three-star, 22-room beachside lodge, the hotel will target niche markets including divers, hikers and eco tourists, and will feature a freshwater swimming pool and restaurant.
The island has seen a raft of recent refurbishments and renovations to properties including the Magdalena Grand Beach Resort, Blue Waters Inn, and Coco Reef Resort & Spa.
