Asian Journeys hopes to double its number of bookings for 2000 after extending its distribution to independent agents.
The tailor-made specialist, which launched in 1996, expects to take 1,200 people to Asia in 2000 compared with 600 this year.
Managing director Craig Burkinshaw said:”We have a great product but it doesn’t receive the exposure it requires.
“We will begin by targeting our database of about 100 independent agents.”
It’s new 112-page Asia brochure features tailor-made holidays to southeast Asia, China and Japan.
“The brochure can appear intimidating because there is so much information in it,” said Burkinshaw. “This is because we tailor-make every holiday. The advantage for agents is that itineraries will be made to the client’s exact requirements.”
Prices start at £1,400 per person for a 16-day tour in Vietnam based on scheduled flights and two to three-star accommodation. “A lot of people think we are looking for high-end business, but the cost of our holidays differ widely and we can also cater for the more budget end of the market,” added Burkinshaw.
A dedicated Indian subcontinent brochure is due to be launched in January 2000.
