Dual purchase aids Oriel growth

Oriel has a franchise agreement with Bass Hotels and Resorts to build and operate Holiday Inn Express hotels in the UK. Oriel Leisure Ltd chief executive Michael Brooker said: “These two latest sites are both in prime locations and will increase Oriel’s foothold in the UK budget hotel market.”



ORIEL Leisure has announced the acquisition of sites in Gloucester and Manchester for the development of two new Holiday Inn Express hotels.



The £8m project will see building on both sites begin for practical completion by early 2000. Once completed , the Manchester East Holiday Inn Express will comprise 97 bedrooms with a room rate per night of £49.50. The site is a mile from the M60 motorway and is less than four miles from the city centre.



The Gloucester South hotel will have 106 rooms with the same room rate per night as Manchester. The site is three miles from the city centre.
