THE Guild of Business Travel Agents is to invite young people in the industry to join a working party to air their views on technology and the future of business travel.
GBTA chairman Don Lunn said: “Our intention is to set up a Future Leaders Group to make sure we harness the ideas of the industry’s up-and-coming brains.
“This will be a hand-picked team of young and talented people in GBTA member companies as well as suppliers and customers.”
He said one of the main areas of discussion will be technology.
“Technology will be an even greater influence on all we do, so we need to hear the views of the technology generation,” he added.
The Future Leaders Group will be set up by Travel Centre Norwich managing director Rachel Crampton.
She said members will be under 35, from all sectors of the trade including global distribution system suppliers, airlines and agencies.
Crampton said: “The Guild feels it is not in touch with what young people are thinking and technology is a natural part of a young person’s upbringing. We want to create a sound board for the industry to refresh and make sure we are up to date.”
