Tourist arrivals to the UK fell 3% in the first three months of this year compared with 1998’s figure, according to the British Incoming Tour Operators Association.
Chief executive Richard Tobias said this was in line with forecasts that the arrivals would fall by 2%-4% during 1999.

BTI UK managing director Eric Brannan said the company needed to move to bigger premises to accommodate future growth.

Cosmos has launched its seat-only product, Cosmos Flights, for summer 2000. New services include flights from East Midlands Airport to Palma, Majorca, aPremium Cabin Service on some flights to Florida and packages to Zante. Theprogramme offersdepartures from 12 UKairports to 29 destinations.
