First Choice plans £10 fee

FIRSTChoice is to follow Thomson and introduce a £10 fee for late-deal customers wanting return airport transfers, as exclusively revealed in Travel Weekly on April 26.

Managing director Dermot Blastland said the charge could start as early as next month.

Blastland said:”We can see the logic and believe it is sensible. We are working on getting the systems right.”

He confirmed First Choice would match Thomson’s fee, a move which is set to give the market leader an extra £4m profit. Blastland refused to say how much First Choice will benefit. Airtours and Sunworld said they had no plans to introduce the fee.
