Carnival Cruise Line names new ship Carnival Horizon

Carnival Horizon is the name given to a new Carnival Cruise Line ship due to for delivery in March 2018.

The 133,500-ton vessel will be the line’s second Vista-class ship and the 26th ship in the fleet.

Namesake ship in the series, the 3,936-passenger Carnival Vista, entered service in May this year.

The US line has promised a number of new innovations unique to this Carnival Horizon, which is under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.

The ship’s homeport and itinerary details will be announced at a later date.

Carnival Horizon will offer many of the indoor and outdoor dining, bar, entertainment and activity options available on Carnival Vista including SkyRide, an IMAX Theatre, WaterWorks aqua park, Seuss at Sea programme in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Alchemy Bar.

A wide range of accommodation categories will be available. including Havana cabins and large Family Harbour cabins.
