Attraction World announces departure of Tony Seaman

Attraction World has announced chief operating officer Tony Seaman has left the business after a decade.

Formerly group sales and marketing director, Seaman led a management buyout in 2010.

Attraction World said Seaman was leaving to pursue other interests and new business opportunities.

In a statement the firm said: “Seaman was involved heavily in the success of the company, creating a market leading and award-winning trade brand, in addition to securing major accounts for the business such as Thomas Cook UK and Ireland.”

A new management team has been in place since February 2016, including Simon Applebaum, managing director and Nick Hughes, sales and marketing director,

Seaman said he has every confidence in the new structure taking the company to new heights. “The time is right for me to make room for the new team and allow them to continue with the exciting plans they have in place.

“As technology plays an ever more influential part in all aspects of our business, the team is excellently placed to continue to grow our trade business in the newer online environment”.

Applebaum joined from Affinion International over three years ago. Hughes, who previously worked for Seaman at Holiday Autos, was brought into the business as Head of Sales over 6 years ago.

Applebaum said: “Tony has lead a first rate handover to Nick and myself. I’m delighted he’ll maintain a stake in the business and continue to offer me consultancy whenever required. Whilst I’m sad not to be working with a close friend day-to-day moving forward, I’m incredibly grateful for the fantastic position that Tony leaves us in, and that shall be his legacy”.
