New properties help Swallow Hotels to increase profits


THEaddition of six hotels to Swallow Hotels’ portfolio last summer has helped the group to increase pre-tax profits by 29% to £15.7m in the six months to March 20.



Sales rose 28.5% to £63.6m on an average room rate up an average 6% to £58.58.



Last year Swallow opened new properties in Huntington and Liverpool and bought four hotels – two in Norwich and one in Ipswich and Harlow. Together they contributed £2.6m to the group’s profits. Swallow is to launch a new Meeting Plus conference brand in October.
