A new air link between Southampton and Munich started yesterday in time for Oktoberfest.
Flybe is to operate daily flights on the route year-round.
Fares start at £29.99 one-way with the service beginning ahead of Oktoberest which runs from September 17 to October 3 in the Bavarian capital.
The route also provide links to Flybe’s German code share partner Air Berlin.
Flybe chief revenue officer, Vincent Hodder, said: “Importantly, our codeshare with Air Berlin further strengthens Flybe’s ‘One Stop to the World’ proposition, benefitting our Southampton customers, who can now enjoy seamless connecting travel through Air Berlin’s many onward routes from Munich when booked through the Air Berlin website or with their local travel agent.
“Our new Munich service also gives our Southampton travellers the flexibility to conveniently link with and conduct important business with this key German centre of commerce and, for leisure customers, the opportunity to explore the many attractions the region has to offer.”
Southampton airport managing director, Dave Lees, added: “Services into Germany are always in high demand so it is fantastic to be able to offer this route into Munich with Flybe.
“Many local businesses have strong connections in Munich and it is also a key tourist destination, especially for the upcoming Oktoberfest as well as the German Christmas markets as we move into winter.”
