Single supplements are being waived on 203 European river cruises by Uniworld in 2017 – with the operator seeing this as a “big opportunity” for agents.
Savings up to £2,900 are being claimed by the operator which has made the move in response to a “significant increase” in the volume of enquiries about solo travel.
A further 69 departures across ten different European itineraries are selling with a reduced single supplement offer in 2017.
UK managing director, Kathryn Beadle, said: “Solo travel is a big opportunity for the trade.
“We are seeing this area of the market exhibit significant growth and we recognise the importance of single supplement waivers in helping agents to harness the value of the solo travel market.”
Among the itineraries included in the initiative is an eight-day Danube trip from Budapest to Passau; a number of Christmas markets sailings and an eight-day Paris and Normandy cruise by new ship Joie de Vivre from March 2017.
Prices in 2017 start at £2,089 per person – saving £1,699 on the waived solo supplement – for an eight-day Castles Along the Rhine sailing departing on November 1.
