AccorHotels unveils no-frills lifestyle brand

A new no-frills AccorHotels brand dubbed Jo&Joe aims to blend the best of private rental, hostel and hotel formats.

A total of 50 properties are due to open by 2020 in destinations popular with Millennials.

Prices will start at just €25 a night with the lifestyle brand expecting guests to cook their own meals on barbeques, grills and wood fires pizza ovens.

Accommodation at each venue could include yurts, hammocks and caravans.

Part of the accommodation available will comprise of an “ingenious modular sleeping area” that guests are expected to share “without sacrificing privacy”.

The company said: “In addition to spacious beds, private lockers, reading lights and USG ports, guests have access to share recreation areas and bathrooms.”

Other rooms and apartments for between two and five people will include a private bathroom and kitchen.

Each bar area is described as being central to the brand’s “social experience” with locals encouraged to join guests.
