UK travellers to Greece have been warned to remain vigilant after a grenade attack in Athens.
The French embassy in central Athens was the target for the explosion early this morning.
A policeman suffered minor injuries as the grenade was thrown from a motorbike outside the embassy.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The explosion came just days ahead of outgoing US president Obama visiting Athens next Tuesday and Wednesday.
The call for vigilance came today from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Addressing the presidential visit, the FCO added: “The Greek police will mount an extensive security operation which is likely to cause significant disruption around the city in the course of the visit.”
