The accommodation sharing site claims to have seen 1,500% growth for Milneburg this year over 2015, described as an emerging hub for the Louisiana tourist trap city.
Just behind with 976% growth is Kampung Bayu in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Fitzroy in Melbourne with 770% growth.
Neighbourhoods feature among trending themes for next year based on travel patterns 140 million guests as travellers look for retreats away from the usual pace of city life.
Airbnb users are also looking for areas in cities close to parks and green spaces such as Rockcliffe Smythe in Toronto and foodie centres such as Bangkok’s Din Daeng district, renowned for its roadside markets, and Midtown Miami’s local dining options.
