Colin Bryan, chief executive of UK theme park Drayton Manor Park, was recognised in the new year’s honours list.
The son of the original founders of the Staffordshire attraction, received an OBE in recognition of his charity work and his on going contribution to tourism.
Bryan said: “My parents opened the park in 1950 and I have been working there since I was a young boy, when my first job was helping them clear the rubble with my miniature wheelbarrow.
“I have worked in nearly every department over the years and qualified as a chef to really understand what makes the park and catering companies what they are today.
“It is in my blood so I feel very honoured to receive this OBE. I still love watching our guests have fun, enjoying themselves, knowing I have played a part in that.”
Brenda Morgan, who joined British Airways in 2012 as partnership manager for Northern Ireland, received an MBE for services to economic development in the province.
She is responsible for trade, corporate and industry relationships and previously worked for BMI as Ireland sales manager.
Cheryl Mvula, who runs responsible tourism consultancy Tribal Voice Communications, also received an MBE for services to responsible tourism, community development and conservation in Africa.
