Executive club aiming for business benefits

To help exhibitors and trade visitors obtain mutual benefit from the Arabian Travel Market, the Meridian Club will again be a feature of the show, together with the hosted Gold Visitor Programme, introduced last year.

Meridian’s membership is made up of key clients nominated by exhibitors, who can pre-arrange appointments with their VIP contacts and host them at social events, acting as a business club for top international buyers.

In addition to show-related benefits such as fast-track entry to the World Trade Centre, an exhibitor list and a welcome pack, with other extras to be announced on site, Meridian members will have the use of a lounge, sponsored by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.

Similar in concept but offering more comprehensive facilities and services, the Gold Visitor Programme brings together exhibitors and senior travel industry management.

“We do a lot of research among our exhibitors to establish their most important markets and those they see as having the greatest potential over the next five to 10 years,” said ATM marketing manager Kay Adye.

Expanded from 37 to 60 participants after its successful test run at last year’s show, the Gold Visitor programme offers its VIPs discounted Emirates’ flights to Dubai, free accommodation at Le Meridien Jumeira Beach Hotel, complimentary transfers to and from the World Trade Centre courtesy of Thrifty Car Rental, and a programme of business and social functions. Among these will be a shopping tour and gala dinner in Sharjah on May 4 to be attended by Meridian Club members and ATM exhibitors.

Gold Visitors will also enjoy a range of trips and excursions, and will be invited to join familiarisation visits to Gulf states after ATM.
