Kenya Airways ups Nairobi efforts

KENYAAirways is adding another non-stop flight to its Heathrow-Nairobi route on May 29 to give it a total of five direct services a week.

The improved timetable means the carrier will now offer three weekly services via Amsterdam instead of four.

A fourth Airbus A310 joins Kenya’s fleet this summer to allow for improvements to the UK schedule.

Kenya codeshares its eight weekly UK services with Wings partner KLM from Heathrow’s Terminal Four.

The airline also carries KLMUK passengers to Africa from regional airports and Stansted to Amsterdam.

Meanwhile, Kenya Airways has appointed Richard Nyaga to replace managing director Brian Davies on August 1.

The announcement means a return to the post for Nyaga. He previously held the position of managing director between 1981 and 1985.

His most recent job was as special advisor to the director general’s office at the International Air Transport Association.
