MIAMI-based Island Outpost has opened its first ever sales office in London to cover the UKand European markets.
The office is run by five staff and will allow UK agents and tour operators to check real-time availability and confirmation for the group’s 14 hotels and seven villas.
Previously, all enquiries had to be passed through to a reservations centre at its head office in South Beach.
The office will be run by newly appointed head of sales Colin Levy, who has joined Island Outpost from a computer company.
In London to open the office, chief executive officer Richard Wilhelm said Island Outpost was looking to expand within the US and the Caribbean.
The group, owned by the founder and owner of music label Island Records Chris Blackwell, is hoping to open hotels in Los Angeles, New York and Dallas.
Wilhelm said:”We will be careful to make sure that any new properties are of the same unique, boutique style as our existing ones.”
