FORMER Flying Colours managing director Fred van Eijk has joined Egypt specialist Goldenjoy Holidays.
His appointment coincides with the operator moving premises and expanding its programme.
Current managing director Ayman Tantawy confirmed van Eijk had joined Goldenjoy, but he refused to say in what role.
However, industry insiders say van Eijk will take the managing director’s post at the London firm. Tantawy said the company was moving from its West Hampstead offices to a new headquarters in Wimbledon later this year.
“Fred’s appointment is part of a bigger plan to expand the company to be a worldwide operator,” said Tantawy.
Goldenjoy’s main business is currently to Egypt and the Far East.
Van Eijk was made redundant by Flying Colours last July after the operator merged with Thomas Cook. He was at Flying Colours for just four months after leaving his previous role as managing director at Magic Travel Group.
Goldenjoy has also recently launched a dedicated Indian Ocean programme to complement its existing product range.
