New travel club goes on-line

ONLINE Travel Services is to launch a Web site in May for independent travellers looking for tailor-made holidays

The site, called the Online Travel Club is the Web version of a travel club and will charge members fees ranging from ú50-ú1,000 depending on the type of membership they choose.

The on-line travel club will e-mail members with details of current offers available.

Online Travel Services, which bought out travel agents travel club UKTA, also operates a number of travel clubs for the trade, and tour operator/agent Travelcoast which owns and operates two inclusive-tour programmes for Cuba and Croatia.

Director of marketing Margaret Whiteford said: “This site differs from others in that the people who are members are committed to it because they have paid a fee and travel providers know they are sending their message to a serious market through our site.

“Also the Online Travel Club can offer very competitive prices because, as it already has revenue from membership fees, it does not have to worry so much about margins.”
