Disney bids to cut queues

WALT Disney World in Florida is experimenting with a reservations system to cut down queuing at some of its most popular attractions.

The rides covered by the scheme include Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom, Tower of Terror at Disney-MGM Studios, Countdown to Extinction at Animal Kingdom and General Motors’ Test Track at Epcot.

The reservations system is free to theme park visitors.

Meanwhile, Disney World has closed Discovery Island, a zoo attraction featuring animal shows. The attraction had declined in popularity following the opening of Animal Kingdom last year. The company has not yet announced what it plans to do with the vacant site.
