RYANAIR is set to announce the launch of flights from Stansted to Northern Ireland and mainland Europe.
The airline is finalising talks with several airports including Derry, the two Belfast airports and Spanish destinations with an aim to start services by September.
A spokeswoman confirmed directors were in negotiations with the Irish airports and a decision on which would be chosen is set to be revealed as early as next month.
She said:”Traffic from Northern Ireland accounts for 20% of our Dublin passengers. There is great demand for flights.”
Ryanair launches flights from Stansted to Frankfurt, Biarritz and Dinard on Thursday.
