AIRTOURS is among a number of companies seeking to acquire upmarket operator Meon Villas.
Meon managing director Mark Olszowski confirmed it had received several approaches – including one from Airtours – and these were being considered by him and his family, which own 100% of the villa specialist. “We are looking around and seeing what comes our way,” he said.
The company, based in Petersfield, Hampshire, also owns Silk Cut Travel and Longshot Golf. It took a total of 25,000 passengers on holiday in 1998.
Last week Travel Weekly revealed Airtours is believed to be keen to acquire US tour operator Go Go Worldwide Vacations.Airtours group finance director Tim Byrne refused to comment.
