LIBRA Holidays has bought and upgraded a hotel in Cyprus after receiving 800 complaints about the property from clients in one season.
Holidaymakers who complained about the Chrysland Hotel on the island referred to poor food, poor service and no water sports as advertised.
Customers also complained that it was shown in the brochure as a three-star hotel when it was two-star.
Libra Group director Themis Drakou said that teething problems initially encountered with the Chrysland had now been resolved.
“There were some problems there but they have been sorted out. The hotel was a third-party property but we bought it and spent a lot of money on upgrading it. We see 800 complaints as a large amount so we had to do something about it,” said Drakou.
He added that the hotel was now 90% booked from June onwards this year, 20% of which was repeat business.
