GREECE specialist Kosmar Holidays has more than doubled its reservations staff after moving toa larger headquarters in north London.
By the start of the summer season 40 staff will be in place at the new offices in Southgate, compared with 17 at the beginning of the year.
On-site training for overseas reps will also take place at the new HQ as part of a ú250,000 investment in the company.
“We simply outgrew our old premises in Arnos Grove and had to move,” said Kosmar director Abhi Dighe. “The new building is four times bigger and the additional space will enable us to expand the business, particularly in the case of our reservations team.
“Business has been increasing steadily and the extra staff will help us cope with that growth.”
He said it was important to increase the number of staff to match agents’ extended opening hours. “The business is no longer Monday to Saturday, nine to five,” he said.
Kosmar has also spent ú150,000 updating the telephone and computer systems. Dighe said the new technology had been introduced following complaints from agents that the system was slow on the busiest days.
“All improvements are in response to feedback from agents, customers and staff,” he added. “We can guarantee faster response times and minimise missed calls.”
Meanwhile, the operator has officially been recognised as the number one independent operator to Greece by AC Nielsen, formerly Stats MR.
It lists Kosmar as the fifth-biggest company to Greece behind Thomson, Thomas Cook, Airtours and First Choice.
