SRS Worldhotels has introduced a new reservations system for its corporate clients which allows their employees to gain direct access to the chain’s inventory.
The tool will mean that business travellers can own flights and hotel rooms at their desks but it will have been programmed by a systems manager to include certain rules such as employees only being allowed to fly business class not first or booking only four star not five star rooms.
The inventory will show real-time availability as it is linked to a GDS used by SRS.
SRS managing director Wolf-Rudiger Uhlig said agents had a part to play in the system as many corporate clients preferred to employ business travel agents to negotiate rates.
