THEBUSINESS travel side of Advantage TravelCentres will get its own budget for the first time in the next financial year starting April 1.
Business development manager Norman Gage said the amount of money had not yet been agreed with the consortium’s board but he said having separate finances would be a benefit.
Gage said one of the moves on the agenda is to employ a dedicated air fares specialist at Advantage’s head office in central London so that members could have access to expert advice. Another is to set up a 24hr service centre at its existing net fares centre Advantage Flights or to employ a dedicated business travel telesales person.
“Since we moved Leisure for Business down to Barnstaple earlier this year, we have moved Advantage Flights downstairs and we now have some extra space,” said Gage. “We are not going to rush into anything. We need to make sure we choose the best option.”
Gage said Advantage had not lost any business travel members following the tie-up with Airtours.
