Franco ropes in the Pope for campaign

FRANCOMancassola, that shy retiring type who runs Debonair, is thinking about seeking divine help to boost his latest advertising campaign.

The chairman and chief executive has launched a range of hotel breaks to leading European cities, but has a special publicity plan for Rome.

He told Backchat he is thinking of enlisting the help of none other than the Pope himself in selling the divine city.

Franco has had a vision of John Paul II, standing on the balcony of St Peter’s with arms outstretched, gazing at the sky.

Above him is Debonair’s soaraway low-cost fare from Luton to Rome and possibly even a smiling Franco.

“Maybe we could use that and have a caption of the Pope saying ‘miracles are possible’,” the Debonair chief said.

What his Holiness would think about starring in the latest Debonair campaign, God only knows.

.Previous publicity material from the carrier has included a celebrated image of a bunch of sardines, emphasising Debon- air’s roomy cabins. Maybe the Pope will feel charitable to a little UK airlin. It is run by an Italian after all.
