Call centre staff top priority for Air Miles

Air Miles Travel Promotions is attending the Travel Weekly recruitment fair for the first time as part of a drive to fill 300 vacancies at its new call centre in Birchwood, Warrington.

The centre, which starts trading in April, is the second opening at the Birchwood site. The first was in November ’98.

Recruitment co-ordinator Emma Carney said: “We will be looking for people who are well travelled and have retail travel experience with excellent selling skills.”

Candidates for the call centre will attend a half-day assessment involving group exercises and numeracy and verbal tests.

Those who are successful are invited to an interview with team leaders.

Carney said the location of Travel ’99 provides the company with an excellent opportunity to target local candidates for the Warrington call centre.

“We will be able to reach exactly the people we are looking for,” she said.
