Thomson turns focus to 2000 holiday hype


THOMSON has released its third-edition Wintersun brochures with a new logo to push millennium holidays.



The market leader released its Winter Sun, Young at Heart, Faraway Shores, Skytours and Florida brochures with a strapline ‘Let us take you into the 21st century’. Prices across most programmes have been held although Faraway Shores have risen by an average of 2%.



A spokesman said:”Where hoteliers have increased their rates we have had to pass them on but they are minimal. We are not trying to cash in on the millennium by raising prices ourselves.”



New hotels have been added in Tunisia, Tenerife, Costa Blanca and the Canaries in Winter Sun and Young at Heart, while flights now arrive in Orlando International, rather than Sanford, from Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. Early deals include savings of ú200 per couple on long-haul holidays and ú100 on short-haul.
