ESPRIT Holidays chairman and ABTA board member Bob Moore has handed over the reigns of the company to his number two Derek Jones after developing a serious illness.
However, Moore will sit on a newly established board of directors at the Fleet-based operation.
Moore, aged 54, was diagnosed as having cancer of the pancreas earlier this month.
He will remain on the ABTA Board and retain his place on both the Tour Operators’ Council and Association of Independent Tour Operators.
“I will fight this illness all the way and in the meantime shall keep supporting the industry,” said Moore.
